Peter Ho, MD,  Board Certified Ophthalmologist


Dr. Peter M. Ho was born and raised in Taiwan.  He obtained both undergraduate and medical degree from National Taiwan University.  To pursue his interest in eye research, he went on to Baylor College of Medicine in Houston to obtain a PhD in retinal biochemistry and neuroscience. He published several scientific papers in vitamin A and vitamin D in retina.  In 1989, he moved to Lubbock to join the Texas Tech Ophthalmology Department and completed his residency training in 1993.  He has been in private practice since then and has expertise in a wide variety of eye diseases including glaucoma, cataract, laser vision correction, eye trauma, retinal diseases, macular degeneration, diabetic eye complications, functional and cosmetic eyelid surgery, and special contact lenses. Dr. Ho is board certified by American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of American Academy of Ophthalmology. He founded Lubbock Eye Clinic in 1999 to promote excellence in professional eye care. Dr. Ho was voted as the best Ophthalmologist for the year 2000 by the Lubbock Avalanche Journal.  Dr. Ho is also very involved in community service. He has served on the board of Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, Society to Prevent Blindness, 34th Street Association and Asian American Association. He and his wife founded HoChou Foundation in 1999 to promote educational and cultural excellence in West Texas. They truly love the land and the people in West Texas and strive to make it a better place to live.
